We are pleased to welcome Quynh Chi Tran, M.D., to our practice.

South Bay Family Medical Group is pleased to welcome Quynh Chi Tran, M.D., to our practice. Dr. Tran received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Riverside and her medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada. She later completed her residency in internal medicine at Harrisburg Hospital in Pennsylvania and is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Tran has a special interest in women's health and geriatrics. Dr. Tran is proud to serve the South Bay, along with her husband who is also a local South Bay physician.

Dr. Tran believes in developing a good doctor-patient relationship. She strives to make every visit comprehensive for the patient, especially with regards to health maintenance, education and prevention.

South Bay Family Medical Group is proud to welcome Dr. Tran as an active member of our team. We continue to look forward to our association with Dr. Tran and are pleased to have her knowledge and experience available to our community. Currently, Dr. Tran is seeing and accepting new patients at our Torrance location.

We are pleased to welcome Cary D. Nelson, M.D., to our practice.

Dr. Nelson is board certified in family medicine, with a special interest in aesthetic medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles and studied medicine at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and New York Medical College. He completed his residency training at the USC-PIH Family Practice Program in Whittier, California serving as co-chief resident. Dr. Nelson enjoys providing complete and continuous health care to his patients and families throughout every phase of life, dedicated to the highest level of personalized care. Dr. Nelson is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to family medicine, Dr. Nelson is highly trained and certified in aesthetic medical treatments, including Botox Cosmetic, multiple dermal fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Captique) and in facial volumizers (Radiesse). He also specializes in IPL and laser techniques for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging. Dr. Nelson has served as medical director for several aesthetic medical practices in Southern California.

South Bay Family Medical Group is delighted to announce that Dr. Nelson will be the Medical Director of our new Aesthetic Medicine Services scheduled to open summer of 2011.Dr. Nelson is committed to our mission and core values. A Message to our Families: In the Event of an Acute Pediatric Illness

We are pleased to announce that South Bay Family Medical Group in affiliation with Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach., can  make available to our patients a group of Pediatric specialists who will care for your child, in the event of an acute pediatric illness.

These specially trained Pediatricians will provide consultative services to children seen in the emergency department who have been admitted to Torrance Memorial, as well as Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach.

What does this mean to you?

• If we recommend that your child be evaluated in an Emergency Department, we ask that you go to Torrance Memorial Medical Center at 3330 Lomita Blvd., in Torrance. This will allow for your child to be cared for by specially trained pediatricians (Drs. Maggi, Jenson and Han). 
• If we feel your child requires direct hospital admission, we may recommend and arrange for the admission by either: Dr. Jenson, Dr. Han or Dr. Maggi at Torrance Memorial.
   
• After your child is discharged from the hospital, we will continue to provide follow-up care in our office, but we will be in consultation with our Pediatric specialists.

We feel that having the back-up support of pediatricians trained in hospital and critical care medicine is an excellent addition to our practice.
